Lightweight and so soft and cozy the CROPPED PONCHO is a best-seller. It is woven in sumptuous colours and hand finished with a decorative stitch.

It can be worn in a variety of ways (see video) and elevates cool weather looks, from jeans to a cocktail dress. Woven from fine alpaca or a soft blend of alpaca/merino the CROPPED PONCHO drapes beautifully around the neck. The openwork design, although looks delicate, is very durable due to the hand felting process. A great traveller.

100% alpaca & 50% alpaca/50% merino

One Size but due to the hand-felting the measurements may vary 1-2" / 2-5 cm.

6 reasons you'll love this Burial Shroud:

1. Easy To Use

Our Burial Shrouds have six durable cotton-webbed handles with a strong, reinforced canvas sleeve underneath to hold a wooden plank, providing full-body support. A three-step instruction sheet is also included for easy, stress-free transport.

2. Exquisite, Sustainable Fibres

Woven in our studio in a striking variation of a herringbone twill weave, this cloth is made from organic cotton naturally grown in a range of soft colours, as it was once long ago. When the yarn is available, two different coloured fabrics are woven, creating a two-toned natural shroud.

3. Fully Biodegradable

Accented with natural linen trim and ties, and sewn with cotton thread, even the smallest details of our Burial Shrouds are 100% biodegradable.

4. Zero Waste, Zero Chemicals

We embrace earth-friendly design practices in the design and construction of our burial shrouds. No material is wasted and our fabrics are free from artificial dyes.

5.Handcrafted with Care

Each burial shroud is lovingly made at our Nova Scotia-based LaHave Weaving Studio by Lesley Armstrong, a master weaver with over 50 years of experience.

Custom sizing, colours and patterns are available by emailing lesley@lahaveweavingstudio.com

6. Lavender sachet

Each of our Natural Burial Shrouds includes a complementary sachet filled with pure, dried Nova Scotia lavender buds. Encased in a fully biodegradable silk organza pouch, this aromatic sachet provides a sweet, woodsy scent.
