Where Wild Birds Sing
Natural Burial Shrouds

Our Natural Burial Shroud Collection has been lovingly designed by Kate Delmage and Lesley Armstrong over the past four years. This collection is inspired by wild birds that are native to Nova Scotia which is where each of the Burial Shrouds have been handmade. Each shroud is woven in our LaHave Weaving Studio by Lesley Armstrong, (a weaver with over 50 years experience), using beautiful, all-natural fibers to ensure they are fully biodegradable. All of our handcrafted Burial Shrouds have been designed to be strong, zero-waste, and have been designed for easy, stress-free use.

How To Use Our Natural Burial Shrouds

Step 1

An unbleached cotton canvas
sleeve is sewn underneath the
shroud, so that a wooden plank
can be easily inserted to fully
support the body.

Step 2

Once tied, all four panels
provide full coverage and a
secure fit around the body.

Step 3

Each shroud is designed with
a total of 6 strong cotton
webbing handles, 3 on each side, providing ease of transport.
