Welcome to LaHave Weaving Studio!

Welcome to LaHave Weaving Studio situated in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.  Lesley Armstrong, weaver and teacher, is very pleased to offer weaving, textile, and design workshops in a renovated studio overlooking Lunenburg Harbour. This summer I am very pleased that my former teacher who is still teaching at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Warren Seelig, will be visiting to teach a 5-day workshop, "Thinking Textiles/Constructed Surfaces".  Check out our 2019 Schedule.

Another wonderful season has been planned and we are offering a variety of introductory and intermediate-level textile workshops--from 2-evenings to 5-day workshops--as well as more advanced instruction or specific workshops for travel groups.  During the summer of 2019 workshop topics will include a variety of weaving workshops with Lesley Armstrong, Designing Geometrics with Nancy Price, Constructed Surfaces with Warren Seelig, learning to net and also how to make a ditty bag with Brooke Gray, and the Textile Discoveries tour where we'll make a willow basket with Heather Sanft, visit a rural museum, enjoy a hands-on day inspired by the museum's collection with Kate Delmage, and spend the day with artist Doug Guildford.

Owner Lesley Armstrong is a experienced weaver, currently running a weaving business Armstrong Textiles and has taught for over three decades in the Textiles/Fashion area of NSCAD U.

Please check out the workshop descriptions and don't hesitate to contact Lesley for more information or if you have questions call 902-220-5430.  Join us this summer in a welcoming and well-equipped workshop environment in a rustic historic building with a great view of the harbour--the building is part of the history of the Lunenburg Foundry.  At the same time, enjoy the tastes and textures of the historic town of Lunenburg as well as the beaches and scenery along the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

Please join us for the Textile Conversations, lectures & hands-on events that are free and open to the public, during the summer of 2019 at the Studio.
